i don't know if you guys know this, but i am not george bush's biggest fan, and when that reporter in IRAQ threw those shoes at him i laughed and had a generally warm feeling all over that lasted for days...

i was euphoric...

But low and behold, Laura Bush (Notice her name gets capital letters...), spoke about that incident and spun it into a positive for george bush's legacy, and you know what, she was right...there is one positive that was reflected in that shoe throwing incident and the fate of the would be assailant...

she pointed out that under Saddam Hussein, that shoe thrower would have never felt free enough to throw his shoes at a world leader standing next to Saddam...

not only that, but she added that if he did throw that shoe with the former Iraqi leader in the room, the thrower would have been incarcerated for the rest of his short ass life right up until the time that Saddam had him executed...

and you know what?

she's fucking right...

the people in Iraq do enjoy more freedoms than they did before....

that still doesn't make the lies her husband told alright, nor was it worth the 50,000 plus lives lost, or the 2 trillion dollars it will ultimately cost us....

but whatever...that being said...there are still backwards ASS countries in ASIA that are executing people for things as simple as drug possession and the like....

my problem with the UFC...

It's no secret amongst those of you that know me, i am much more of a BOXING fan than i am of the MMA, but i am still a fan of MMA fighting, just not of the UFC.

It seems to me that in the UFC guys try to "stand and throw" more than in any other MMA fight league. This is probably because of pressure from Dana White on his fighters to put on an "Exciting show" for the sake of pay per view ratings. I have heard terms like "knock out bonuses" etc.

Well if you ask me, thats tampering with the results, meaning that if you have a ground fighter that tries to fight standing up in order to please the league or to get a bonus, that puts that fighter at a dis advantage.

If you watch the UFC card, such as the one last night (december 27)  where rampage jackson fought silva, the card was just one lumbering guy after another all throwing punches with almost no takedowns, and very few kicks. The only fighters that even had ANY real stand up ability would probably have been the 6 fighters in the three main events....

the rest were SUB PAR boxers to say the least and it was both hard and annoying to watch these guys lumber around...

also, the UFC focuses mostly on larger fighters and weight classes which makes their ineptitude with their hand skills even more obvious.

Why focus only on heavier fighters and why discourage ground fighting? i know ground fighting is not as exciting as a "Knockout" but it can be exciting if done well, it is definitely more exciting to watch than much of the rubbish that the UFC card contains get knocked out.

Of course there is the occasional exception, but if you watch fights on HDNET, or the WEC on versus network where they feature lighter, faster, more skilled ground and MMA fighters, the fights are much more exciting, and often go from the ground to punching, back to the ground, with judo throws and jiu jitsu fighting, etc.

the UFC has very little in that way, again, i know there are exceptions, but it seems that the last 4 UFC events i watched all had mainly stand up fights.

And as just stand up fighters, these lumbering guys the UFC features leave a lot to be desired from a boxing fan, let me tell ya.

ANOTHER THING - the UFC is a joke because its heavy weight champion is a WWF wrestler that is about 30 pounds over weight and sports a professional record of 3 wins and 1 loss. He is the UFC's version of KIMBO SLICE, an unproven freak show that has done nothing to earn the title shot he got.

It devalues MMA as a sport and quite frankly is disgusting. Why the fuck would a guy with 3 professional fights total get a shot at the title? in NO OTHER SPORT can such a thing occur...

the UFC is a freak show, sort of a spin off of the WWF, and if you are a fan of the MMA, i think you are better suited to watch fights from Japan, and HDNET fights, as well as the WEC on VERSUS network.

Yesterday in a speech you gave, you kind of summed up your 8 years of presidency, and you spoke of your approval ratings by both the public as well as members of your own political party. Both ratings were a combined worst in history for a president that was leaving office.

You really should have been impeached and arrested for the crimes you committed against the american people, in essence you should have been charged with treason you cocksucker.

But in your speech you said that "you didn't sell you soul..." and that a "president can't govern based upon public opinion."

you actually said this, but isnt a politician, elected by the people supposed to be governing "For the people???"

you went on to say that you've "had to deal with two recessions" during your presidency, the first one was started by the terrorists, BUT the second one was started by one of the greatest con men of all time, someone who stripped regulations and bent laws to allow the most FALSE prosperity in history to take place in this country, all the while you patted yourself on your miserable little back constantly reminding us and the world how "This was a time of great american prosperity", your words, not mine. the last time we had a significant economic downturn, they lowered the interest rate to amongst the lowest levels ever, that was the only action they took besides pumping billions of your tax dollars (newly printed i might add) into the banking system....

they essentially printed the money that was used to fuel the sub prime mortgage mess, the phony paper that created this mess to begin with, that cocksucker greenspan, along with some deregulatory help from our corrupt government, as well as the ponzi scheme that is wall street, all added up to be what president bush described as PROSPERITY in america, that fucking cocksucker!!!

so now, this mess has been created and what's the FED's response? 

they pumped billions into the banking system and into wall street, and lowered the rates to even lower than they did before, an all time low i might add!!!

how do they think that printing more money and devaluing the american dollar is going to solve this mess? it didnt the last time....

because the DOW and pretty much any other index rose by .8%, that's right, POINT EIGHT PERCENT,  LESS THAN ONE PERCENT.

Thats not an increase, thats a minor fluctuation if anything, and those headlines would have been more accurate if they read "STOCK MARKET DOESN'T DO SHIT TODAY" or actually "STOCK MARKET DOESN'T COLLAPSE TODAY DESPITE AUTO BAILOUT BLOCKAGE"

but they dont do that, "they" ALWAYS use POSITIVE words, even when nothing good fucking happened, in an attempt to lure people in and to keep retirement funds where they are. just because nothing bad happened doesnt mean something good happened. 

its such a crock of shit, where again, EVERY person retiring that made retirement money in the stock market got that money DIRECTLY FROM the next wave of investors that are investing for their retirement...
