I lost my job, 533,000 others lost their job this month alone. Where was our government bailout??? but this isnt even about spite, or not wanting them to be bailed out because i wasn't. Its because the American automakers make a SHITTY product that doesn't warrant saving.
Even when the economy is at its best, american automakers struggle to turn a profit, similar to the airline companies, but unlike the airline companies, we dont fucking need the american automakers. There are plenty of other options to american made cars and trucks, so why should the government take 100 billion of our tax dollars to try to breath life into this bullshit losing industry only to know that they are going to be in trouble again within the next five years maximum??? that money would be much better spent on some other infrastructure upgrade in this country to create new jobs elsewhere.
The american automakers are the poster child of what happens when you let communist style unions dictate salary increases beyond inflationary, mandate pensions, and other benefits without any connection to profitability or performance.
Many union workers are making 6 figure salaries doing jobs that high school drop outs can do, and while i have no interest in merely stripping anyone of a salary, at the same time it is proven to not work as a business model by the auto industry.
Guys are overpaid, they dont need to do a great job to continue to get raises, and the american product, with very few exceptions, is crap. I think maybe the pick up trucks are a decent product, the cadillac escalade, and the corvette, beyond that it is a bunch of shitty models that change year to year as these union workers struggle to get things right.
Its unfortunate, i know, but jobs are going to be lost in this country no matter what, if our taxpayer money goes into this bullshit, it'll be lost, and that will cause more jobs to be lost somewhere else.
We are already committed to helping out the banking and credit industry, which i hate even more, but at least that has reprocussions and tentacles that stretch out way beyond the industry. The automakers are more localized and like i said, they have never been profitable anyway.
its a losing enterprise, just let it fucking lose!!!
word!!!

LOLOLOLOL...Agreed, i feel for the workers who will lose their jobs, but it would be like bailing out the EBAY store franchises just to keep people employed, its ludichrist...If they do bail out the auto industry, which i agree is a huge mistake, i believe they should somehow, someway, end the unions. They could consult with giuliani who killed off the mob in NYC. The unions were designed to protect the average american from the greedy and abusive hands of corporate america. What do they do instead? They offer a safehaven for the lazy. Their corrupt tactics and nepotistic stranglehold on business, breeds unproductive zombies. certainly they make it impossible for any business to be successful. Get rid of the unions and then pay the workers on a commission basis...imagine that? being paid based on productivity??...lol
